LONDON, October 7:
National Geographic Television International (NGTI) has closed a number of

Canal Plus acquired the
blue-chip specials Mysteries of the Moose and Superpride, which
are both new offerings for MIPCOM. Eden at the End of the World and Hammerhead Highway were also included in the deal.

France 5 picked up the
National Geographic Television titles Animal Genius, Dino Autopsy, Dino Death Trap and Incredible
Human Machine

broadcaster also took on programs from Nature Conservation Films and Essential
Film & Television: Elephant: Return to the Wild and Tribal Odyssey: Rendille—Death and
Rebirth During the Cycles of the Moon

respectively.

China’s Mystery Mummies, Death of the Iceman and Space Investigations: Aliens were picked up by ARTE, while more than 25 hours of
programs went to ABSat France. These titles include Great Inca Rebellion, Surveillance and Anatomy of an Earthquake. Ushaia, meanwhile, acquired eight hours,
including Strange Days on Planet Earth and Battle of the Arctic Giants.

NGTI’s new acting head of
sales, Veronique Heim, who is responsible for France, commented: “NGTI has
excellent, long-standing relationships with broadcasters in France and these
recent deals are testament to those relationships and the continued strength of
our catalogue. With a wide range of factual genres covering cutting-edge
science, new discoveries and never-before-captured animal behaviors—in
addition to iconic history and contemporary society topics—we are well
placed to meet the needs of this territory. It is particularly pleasing to see
early demand for so many of our forthcoming MIPCOM launches.”
