FremantleMedia Scores Canadian Format Deal on Project Runway

TORONTO, February 1: The Canadian version of the hit Bravo
fashion series Project Runway will
premiere on the recently rebranded Slice channel this fall, via a deal between
FremantleMedia Enterprises, Alliance Atlantis and Insight Production.

Project Runway Canada will
find Canadian fashion designers competing in a number of head-to-head
challenges for the chance to be discovered as the next “It” Canadian designer.
In addition to the Canadian format, Slice will also be the exclusive
broadcaster of the U.S. and U.K. versions of Project Runway. Slice is expected to debut the second season of Project
Catwalk
, the British version of the show,
on March 7, and will broadcast the upcoming fourth season of Bravo’s Project
Runway
.

To date, FremantleMedia
Enterprises has sold the original U.S. version of Project Runway to over 100 countries worldwide. In the U.S., the
third season of Project Runway, hosted
by supermodel Heidi Klum, consistently broke ratings records for the Bravo
network during its run, with the premiere episode becoming the most-watched
series premiere ever in Bravo’s history and the season finale becoming the
network's highest-rated telecast ever.

“We’re really delighted to be
working with Insight and Slice to bring Canada its very own version of this
international smash hit show,” said Lisa Honig, the VP of program distribution
for North America at FremantleMedia Enterprises, who brokered the deal.
“Slice’s mandate and tone are a perfect fit for Project Runway Canada and we’re confident that this, combined with the
talent of our tremendously enthusiastic production team, will ensure the series
is just as big a hit locally as it has been around the world.”
