Video Interview with Craig Cegielski

Craig Cegielski, outgoing co-CEO of FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) and executive producer on American Gods, talks to World Screen’s Anna Carugati about the show, which recently began airing on Starz.

FMNA has made a name for itself in unscripted programming and is now focusing on replicating that success in the scripted arena. Among its latest shows is American Gods, a new fantasy drama based on Neil Gaiman’s book of the same name. The series is co-created by showrunners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green. It is produced by FMNA and distributed by FremantleMedia International.

American Gods tells the story of an impending war between the traditional gods of mythology and the new gods of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs. The series, according to Cegielski, allows the company “to tell ambitious, provocative stories” that entertainingly, eloquently and boldly shine a light on the fact that we live in a world of hypocrisy.
