FremantleMedia Launches New Properties at Brand Licensing

LONDON, September 25: FremantleMedia
Licensing Worldwide (FLW) will be taking three TV brands to this year's Brand
Licensing show, two of which are being introduced to the market for the first
time.

New for this year is the game show format, PokerFace, created
and hosted by two popular U.K. television personalities, Ant and Dec. Produced
in the U.K. by talkbackTHAMES, the U.K. production company owned by
FremantleMedia, in association with Gallowgate Productions, PokerFace launched on
ITV1 in July. FLW will be representing all worldwide ancillary rights
(excluding the U.S.) for PokerFace and will be looking to extend the
brand across several categories including gaming (board games, TV plug and
play, handheld, electronic table top games, skill with prizes and amusement
with prizes), online, mobile, publishing, apparel and novelty gifting.

Also new at Brand Licensing 2006 is the TV series, Prehistoric Park. It
features presenter Nigel Marven traveling back in time to try and save
prehistoric animals from extinction by transporting them back to the future to
be cared for at the ultimate wildlife sanctuary, Prehistoric Park. The
six-part, family entertainment series was created by Impossible Pictures and
co-produced by ITV (U.K.), Animal Planet (U.S.), M6 (France) and ProSieben
(Germany). As co-financers, FremantleMedia's distribution and licensing arms,
Fremantle International Distribution and FLW, have acquired the worldwide
distribution and ancillary rights (excluding France and Germany) to the series.

The X Factor will also be a major focus for FLW at Brand
Licensing. Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell returned to ITV last
month for a third series to judge the singing talent of Britain’s pop wannabes,
with Kate Thornton keeping order as host. FLW will be extending the brand's
reach to include kids aged 7-15 with products that are entertaining and
fashionable. Key categories for both kids and adults include music (hardware
and software), health & beauty (toiletries and cosmetics), fashion apparel,
lifestyle, food and drink, toys and games and promotions.

FLW will also showcase its classic game show brands such as The Price
Is Right
, Family Fortunes and Blockbusters as well as Baywatch, The
Apprentice
and cult classic, DangerMouse, who celebrates his 25th
birthday this month.

“The Brand Licensing show
is a key market for FremantleMedia and we are really looking forward to
debuting both PokerFace and Prehistoric
Park
at this year’s show,” says
Dominic Burns, the VP of licensing for the U.K. at FLW. “We feel that we have a
great portfolio of strong and established brands and are pleased to share and
discuss our ideas with the industry. We are confident that PokerFace,
Prehistoric Park
and The X
Factor
will create just as much
interest off screen as they have on screen.”
