FremantleMedia in MGM Gaming Deal

LONDON: FremantleMedia’s gaming division is partnering with MGM Interactive to develop online casino-style games, outside of the U.S., based on a selection of MGM’s film and TV brands.

FM Gaming will develop games based on titles such as Fame, the Stargate franchise, Robocop and the classic “Spaghetti Westerns,” including A Fistful of Dollars, For A Few Dollars More and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. "This deal demonstrates our ambition to become a leading publisher of branded games in this exciting market," said Paul Kanareck, the head of ventures at FremantleMedia. "FremantleMedia recently grew its presence in the broader gaming market with a minority stake in interactive games developer Ludia, and we’re now investing further into the online gaming sector. MGM have a fantastic range of movie titles that are known and loved around the world across generations and we’re looking forward to developing these into great games for online casino operators and their audiences."

David Davis, executive producer at MGM Interactive, added: “MGM’s vast library includes some of the world’s most popular film and television brands, so it makes sense that we partner with a company such as FremantleMedia, which is at the top of its game when it comes to brand extension. Seeing the work that FremantleMedia has accomplished with its own television brands, we are confident that its FM Gaming division will be a terrific strategic partner for MGM."
