FOXTEL & Comedy Central Take On Angry Boys for OZ, NZ

SYDNEY: ABC Commercial has signed up FOXTEL’s Comedy Channel in Australia and Viacom’s Comedy Central in New Zealand for the comedy Angry Boys.

The Comedy Channel will air the show in Australia, while Comedy Central takes the premiere rights for New Zealand. The series feature writer/performer Chris Lilley bringing to life six different characters, each of which reveals their private worlds. The series made its world premiere on ABC1 in May, attracting 1.4 million viewers. Angry Boys is co-produced by ABC TV in Australia, HBO in the U.S., and it pre-sold to the BBC in the U.K.

On the back of the Angry Boys deals, both Comedy Channel and Comedy Central have renewed Lilley’s previous series Summer Heights High and We Can Be Heroes.
