Fox International Channels Begins Production on Original Mini-Series

SÃO PAULO, December 20: Fox International Channels (FIC) has begun production in São Paulo, Brazil, on 9 mm: São Paulo, its first original series in Latin America.

9 mm: São Paulo will be broadcast throughout Latin America in the first semester of 2008. Comprised of 4 one-hour episodes, the series uncovers the complexities of law enforcement in Latin America and is loosely based on well-known police cases, as well as the result of several months of investigation. It also includes interviews and testimonies from real policemen. 9 mm: São Paulo is being filmed entirely in high definition, with two directing units in real locations ranging from police departments, hospitals and training centers to favelas. The series features more than 100 actors, including Norival Rizzo, Luciano Quirino, Clarissa Kiste, Marcos Cesana and Nicolas Trevijano.

Produced by Monshoot Pictures for Fox International Channels (FIC), 9 mm: São Paulo is based on an original idea by Carlos Amorim (Comando Vermelho), Roberto d’Avila and Newton Cannito. It is directed by Michel Ruman and executive produced by Roberto d’Avila.
