PARIS/COPENHAGEN: FOX has commissioned a broadcast pilot of Banijay Entertainment’s new format My Parents Are Gonna Love You, which features families being introduced to celebrities as fake fiancés.

The pilot will be produced by one of Banijay Entertainment’s U.S. production outfits, Angel City Factory. The format was devised by Banijay’s affiliated French company, JES Productions. The show is currently on air in France on NRJ 12.

François de Brugada, the executive VP of Banijay Entertainment, said, “Our aim at Banijay Entertainment is to support our creative partners and help them get the most out of their business at the same time retaining their true independence. Angel City is one of our most recent partners and we’re delighted with this commission so soon after start up.”

Karoline Spodsberg, the managing director at Banijay International, added, “At our launch earlier this month we talked about the creative strength of Banijay International’s content and this commissioning news in the U.S. certainly underlines our promise. Our debut programming slate contains a wide scope of highly original formats suitable for all kinds of slots and broadcasters. We will arrive at MIPTV as a true global content force to be reckoned with—we can’t wait!”

The show is among the new offerings that Banijay will be showcasing to buyers in Cannes. Further titles include Who’s Who, 71 Degrees North, Guides in Paradise, The Missionaries and The Seven Killings.
