Former ITV Global MD Joins Lionsgate

SANTA MONICA/VANCOUVER: Peter Iacono, who previously served as president and managing director for ITV Global Entertainment, has been named managing director of international television at Lionsgate.

Iacono will be responsible for overseeing all of Lionsgate’s international distribution, sales and marketing, as well as the third-party acquisitions business for the Lionsgate international television group’s slate that includes hits such as Mad Men, Weeds, Crash and Paris Hilton’s My New BFF. Iacono is based in Los Angeles. He assumes the post vacated by Craig Cegielski, who in November announced that he was joining Graham King’s GK-TV.

Iacono formed ITV Global Entertainment, orchestrating the merger of the businesses of Granada International and Granada Ventures. Prior to his ITV post, he spent 12 years overseeing Sony Pictures Television International’s global distribution and most recently served as head of production for Sony Pictures Features International.

"The breadth and depth of Peter’s track record makes him the right executive to orchestrate Lionsgate’s activities in the international marketplace," said Kevin Beggs, the president of Lionsgate television programming and production. "We look forward to utilizing his keen understanding of the global production and broadcasting community to help further our overall corporate goals."
