NEW YORK: Food Network Asia has launched in the Philippines on DTH platform Cignal Digital TV, following rollouts in Singapore, Taiwan and Malaysia.

The HD channel includes a mix of popular U.S. Food Network series, as well as locally produced, original content. Announcing the latest carriage deal, Greg Moyer, president of Scripps Networks International, noted, “There is large appetite in Asia for both high-definition television and quality lifestyle entertainment that we seek to satisfy. We are teaming with Cignal Digital TV to bring Food Network Asia to the Philippines and enable viewers to travel around the world with the network and enjoy the highest quality gastronomical programming in HD from their homes."

Ray Espinosa, president and CEO of Cignal parent company Mediaquest, added, “Food Network strengthens our high-definition lineup as it presents a unique spin to our consumers who mainly see movies, sports, and information on HD. This will surely bring out the culinary aspirations of Filipinos who are generally food lovers. And we are proud to be first to offer it.”
