FME Clinches Long-Term Deal for Neighbours with Ireland’s RTE

LONDON, October 11: FremantleMedia
Enterprises (FME) has reached a long-term broadcast deal for the Australian
drama Neighbours with the Irish
terrestrial network RTE.

Also included in the
package to RTE are The Bill
from the U.K. and Shortland Street
from New Zealand.

Since its launch in 1985, Neighbours
has become Australia’s most
successful show. This past July, the drama received a new, refreshed look that
drew acclaim from viewers and critics alike. The series is already shown in 57
countries around the world.

FME’s Justin Hatfield, the
VP of sales for the Benelux, Scandinavia, the U.K. and Ireland, said, “I am
very pleased that the excellent long-term relationship we have enjoyed with RTE
has been cemented for further years to come with these excellent dramas forming
the central pillars of this ground-breaking programming commitment.”
