Five Programming Director Exits

LONDON, October 30: Dan Chambers is exiting his post as
director of programs at Five, it was announced today. His successor is Lisa
Opie, who has been named managing director of content.

Jane Lighting, the chief executive of the British
broadcaster, said of Chambers’ exit: “Dan has done a good job at Five and has
been a wonderful colleague; however we now need a creative director with the
skills and expertise to run a portfolio of channels.”

Five in the last month has launched two new channels, Five
Life and Five U.S., as well as a video on demand service.

Opie is currently the MD of Flextech Television, a position
she has held since April 2003, having previously been director of programming
and then EVP of Flextech Channels. As MD she has overseen LIVINGtv, Bravo,
Trouble, Challenge and Ftn. She was also a director on the board of UKTV and MD
of Minotaur International, Flextech's distribution arm. Opie's start date at
Five is yet to be decided.
