Five Bolsters Digital Media Team

LONDON, February 11: Chris Kerwin and Scott Jeffrey have
joined Five as part of an expansion of the British terrestrial’s digital media
team.

Kerwin has been appointed to the newly created role of
digital controller, in which he oversees the commercial sectors of the
channel’s digital business, including VOD and online. Meanwhile, Jeffrey will
take on the role of VOD editor, and is responsible for Five’s new VOD service.

Previously, Kerwin published T3 magazine and T3.com, which
he relaunched in December 2007. He has also served as the head of new media at
BBC magazines. Jeffrey joins Five from the Adstream, an Australian digital
advertising network.

The appointments are part of a continued expansion of
digital development and refocused strategy at the network that is being
spearheaded by Five’s head of digital media, Jonathan Lewis. In addition to
Kerwin and Jeffrey, Five has also restructured its content team with the hiring
of three senior producers who will oversee new site builds that are planned for
the coming months.

“The team
is responsible for driving the development of five.tv and multiple online
propositions,” said Lewis. “I’m delighted that these two crucial posts have
attracted the experience and expertise of Chris and Scott.”
