Fireworks to Distribute Harmony Gold’s Television Library Worldwide

LOS ANGELES/LONDON, October 1: Fireworks International has
reached a deal to distribute worldwide more than 300 hours from Harmony Gold’s
television library.

The agreement comes on the heels of Warner Bros. Pictures’
recent acquisition of the feature film rights to Harmony Gold’s anime classic Robotech, to produce with Tobey Maguire’s banner Maguire
Entertainment.

Robotech, the
company’s flagship title, includes a TV series and two animated feature films.
Also in the catalogue is Shaka Zulu,
the most successful first-run syndicated mini-series, as well as The
Man Who Lived at the Ritz, King of the Olympics, Around the World in 80 Days
and the Golden Globe-nominated Heidi. Harmony Gold has also recently produced two
live-action feature films, Abe & Bruno and Heart of Fear. Rounding out the company’s offerings is Rin
Tin Tin, Tibet: Cry of the Snow Lion
and a
number of animated children’s series.

Greg Phillips, the president of Fireworks International,
commented: “Harmony Gold’s catalogue of quality commercial drama, family and
kids’ animation programming is a proven success in the international market and
complements ContentFilm’s growing library. My colleagues and I look forward to
generating significant revenues thereon for Frank and the team at Harmony
Gold.”
