Fireworks Scores Distribution Rights to New Series from ZAC Toons

LONDON, March 31: Fireworks
International has secured the multiplatform distribution rights to a selection
of new original productions from U.K.-based animation studio ZAC Toons.

The deal includes
international TV, broadband, video, mobile and VOD rights for all of the
properties. Included in the deal are ABC Wid Da Mob, a 10×1-minute series featuring a host of
misplaced mafioso types presenting their own brand of early learning; Crazy
Cabbies
, a fly-on-the-wall look at
the bizarre antics of crazy cab drivers, as they bemuse and terrorize their
unsuspecting passengers; and Blood Red, a 21st century makeover of the traditional fairytale as Little Red
Riding Hood becomes the flirtatious Blood Red. Fireworks will also handle
distribution rights—excluding the U.K.—for Chaving It, which unpicks life’s more complex conundrums with
Quinne and Cortina, two lovable little Chavs who are full of attitude and
inherently materialistic. The company already represents Mr. Patel, an exaggerated and twisted Bollywood extravaganza
from ZAC Toons. All of these new productions will be offered at MIPTV.

“We are extremely pleased
to continue our affiliation with Fireworks International,” said Troy Zafer, the
co-founder and managing director of ZAC Toons. “Their experience and skill in
securing the ideal platforms for our titles is proving invaluable as we
continue to expand and develop our portfolio of properties for the worldwide
marketplace.”

Jonathan Ford, the VP of
digital distribution for Fireworks, added, “ZAC Toons’ properties are proving
hugely popular worldwide and we are delighted to strengthen our relationship
with the company by adding these new titles to our catalogue. Their fresh
content and strong themes combined with an edgy and innovative style are
perfect to meet the demands of today’s consumer.”
