Finite Films & TV Launches Northern Irish Office, Lines Up The Fears

Finite Films & TV has opened a new base in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and begun development on the psychological horror The Fears with Doctor Who director Andrew Gunn.

The company is expanding its presence in Ireland’s production industry with the new Belfast base as Belfast’s film industry continues to develop as a global creative hub, particularly with recent investment in its industry and the opening of the Studio Ulster virtual production space earlier this year.

This comes as the company begins development on The Fears, written and directed by Gunn, who, in addition to having credits on Doctor Who, has worked on Life on Mars, Survivors and Primeval. The Fears will tell the story of an oppressive Immigration Detention Centre that becomes infected with a mysterious illness causing mass hysteria. Callie, an interpreter, must protect the well-being of Mina, a newly arrived orphan, as well as find her way back to her 3-year-old daughter at the other side of the facility before it’s too late.

“This is an exciting time to be amongst the Irish and Northern Irish industry and its exceptional talent and support by Northern Ireland Screen and Screen Ireland,” said Amy Gardner, founder and executive producer at Finite Films & TV. “We are delighted to be positioning Finite Films & TV in Belfast to collaborate on our projects, including The Fears. Andrew Gunn is renowned for his vision for human storytelling, and it’s an honor to be collaborating with him on this project, marking his foray from TV into features.”
