FIC to Simulcast The Listener Debut

LOS ANGELES, January 14: The Listener will make its worldwide global premiere the first week of March across Fox entertainment channels in 180 countries around the world, ahead of its debut in the U.S. on NBC and Canada on CTV later this year.

Fox International Channels (FIC) will launch the drama series, produced by Shaftesbury Films, in the same week in the U.K., Italy, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Mexico, Japan, Korea, Poland, Brazil and Turkey, among other territories. The 13×1-hour series is about a young paramedic who can read minds.

"We chose to follow the same release model used for movies," said Sharon Tal Yguado, the VP of development at FIC. "All FIC’s regions are working together on a global premiere, which will take place the first week of March. ShineReveille, our international partner on this show, has sold the rights to the series in almost every territory outside of FIC’s markets. Those territories will follow our premiere."

"The financing of The Listener represents a timely model—bringing North American broadcasters, CTV and NBC, together with a major international network, Fox," said Christina Jennings, the chairman and CEO of Shaftesbury Films. "The contribution and support of FIC has been terrific and we look forward to a successful launch of the series around the world."
