SYDNEY: This year in Cannes Beyond Distribution plans to offer international buyers 180 hours of programming spanning such genres as factual, crime and children’s.

Among the factual and lifestyle titles to be presented are Mother of the Bride, which watches as a mom tries to find the perfect dress to wear to her daughter’s wedding; Hidden in America, about secret groups of people living in the U.S.; BBQ Crawl, which follows a barbecue competitor in the American south; Love It or List It Vancouver, which helps homeowners figure out if they want to renovate or sell their houses; Dog Dazed, revolved around the conflicts caused by living with canines in the city; and Ahn Does Vietnam, a travel series led by the Australian-Vietnamese comedian Ahn Do.

Kids titles include History Hunters, a historical edutainment show; Junior Vets, which watches as six children attend a vet school; Totally Rubbish, an art program hosted by Michelle Ackerley and Nigel Clarke; and Get Squiggling Letters, which teaches youngsters the alphabet.

Beyond will also be highlighting returning series such as Income Property 7, World’s Weirdest Restaurants 2, Animal 999 2, Dark Minds 2, Wildlife Man Specials, MythBusters 8, Rush TV 4 and Toybox 4.

Yvonne Body, Beyond’s head of acquisitions, remarked: "Weddings, food, sub-cultures, crime, property, animal rescue, kids’ factual, popular science—yet again Beyond’s new launches aim to cover the genres that are most sought after. Our slate for this market is very much the result of the strong long-term relationships we build with producers."
