Eurocinema Increases Canadian Carriage

LOS ANGELES: The on-demand channel Eurocinema has expanded its presence in Canada through a new deal with Cogeco Cable, adding more than 1 million homes to its reach.

New titles to debut on Eurocinema on Cogeco’s on-demand service this month include Per Sempre (Forever) from Italy and The Lark Farm, which deals with the Armenian genocide. The channel offers a host of contemporary European and international feature films to U.S. and Canadian viewers. Each feature film serves as the centerpiece of a hosted two-hour thematic programming block designed to provide perspective on the main theme.

"We’re delighted to be expanding our reach in Canada as part of Cogeco’s VOD offerings," said Sebastien Perioche, the chairman and CEO of EuroMedia Holdings Corp., the parent of Eurocinema. "Canadian audiences have been very receptive to Eurocinema since we first launched in the country in 2006. With this latest launch, we are almost fully distributed throughout Canada and look forward to delivering to our loyal viewers only the very best in European and international films."
