Eureka Back on Syfy

NEW YORK: Syfy has greenlit a fifth season of its hit original dramedy Eureka.

The fourth season of the show kicked off on July 9, and is averaging a 2.2 household rating and more than 3 million total viewers per week. The show is set in a cozy Pacific Northwest town, which is actually a secret community of geniuses assembled by the government to do top-secret research. Eureka airs Friday nights at 9 p.m. on Syfy.

"Eureka remains a steadfast performer for Syfy with its superb cast and perfect blend of drama, comedy and eye candy," said Mark Stern, the executive VP of original programming for Syfy and co-head of content for Universal Cable Productions, which produces the series. "Given what Jaime, Bruce and their entire team have done collectively to reinvent the show this year, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for season five."
