ESPN and MobiTV Partner to Launch ESPN Mobile TV

BRISTOL/EMERYVILLE, January 7: ESPN and mobile entertainment
provider MobiTV have announced the availability of ESPN Mobile TV, a 24/7
linear channel exclusively for the mobile platform.

The channel offers a blend of live simulcast sports events,
comprehensive and breaking sports news, commentary and analysis, and real-time
sports scores and game updates. ESPN Mobile TV will replace the existing
non-linear ESPN channel available through MobiTV, which launched in July 2005.

In addition to full-length live events, including college
football and basketball, NBA and NASCAR, ESPN Mobile TV will offer content from
shows such as Mike & Mike in the Morning, First Take, Pardon
the Interruption
, Rome is Burning and Around the Horn, as well as new mobile-specific shows such as ESPN
ReSet
, ScoreCenter and Fantasy Football Now.

“MobiTV is committed to delivering the marquee TV brands
consumers are used to seeing at home and ESPN programming represents a significant
milestone in our mission to deliver home-like viewing experience to consumers,
wherever they are,” said Jeff Bartee, the VP of content and programming at
MobiTV. “The demand for on-the-go and live sports programming has not only
contributed to the success of the mobile television category, but has quickly
shifted our mobile and broadband services from novelty to necessity.”

“ESPN’s multiplatform approach gives fans the unmatched
programming and can’t-miss highlights they want, anytime and anywhere,” said
Matt Murphy, the senior VP of digital video distribution at ESPN. “Adding ESPN
Mobile TV to the MobiTV lineup truly delivers live, action-packed sporting
events and keeps fans connected away from the big screen.”

Separately, MobiTV announced the expansion of its mobile
television application to the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 smartphone from Research In
Motion. MobiTV currently powers Sprint TV for Sprint and Axcess TV for Alltel,
and is designed to operate on any wireless network and operating system. Users
can purchase MobiTV through their wireless provider by visiting
www.handango.com, or through MobiTV’s website.

“We are excited to offer our award-winning mobile television
service to BlackBerry customers on the BlackBerry Pearl 8130,” said Paul
Scanlan, the president and co-founder of MobiTV. “This announcement furthers
our goal of providing our innovative services to mobile users around the world,
making our television and radio products available on more than 250 different
mobile devices.”
