eOne Makes International Film Sales

TORONTO: Entertainment One (eOne) has firmed up sales for The Hunter and the Quebec hit Starbuck from its international film division.

The Hunter, which premiered earlier this year at the Toronto International Film Festival, is a psychological drama directed by Daniel Nettheim and stars Willem Dafoe. The film is about a mercenary hired by a bio-tech firm to track down a possibly extinct animal called the Tasmanian Tiger. It has also been picked up in the U.S. (Magnolia), Japan (BMS), Germany (Ascot Elite), Greece (Strada), Turkey (Umut Samat) Bulgaria/Romania (New Films), Poland (Kino Swiat), Indonesia/Vietnam (PT Parkit), India (Pictureworks) and the Middle East (ECS). Most recently, it was sold to Israel (Lev Cinema), the U.K. (Artificial Eye), Scandinavia (Atlantic), Airlines (Jaguar) and France (Films Distribution).

The comedy film Starbuck starring Patrick Huard, is about an eternal 42-year-old teenager who discovers he’s the biological father of 533 children. It was recently sold to the Benelux (Imagine), France (Diaphana), Spain (Vertigo/Wildbunch), Switzerland, Germany and Austria (Ascot Elite), Japan (Klockworks, Comstock), Israel (Nachshon) and Airlines (Cinesky). eOne’s domestic teams are handling the film in Australia and Canada.
