LONDON: The MIPCOM slate from Endemol features a number of new hybrid formats that cross programming genres and media platforms, headlined by the multiplatform hit The Money Drop.

The Money Drop is a TV game show that can simultaneously played online at home. The show is rolling out to major markets worldwide, including FOX in the U.S., which has commissioned a broadcast pilot.

Further highlights include Zoom, a new format that combines TV and social media. The series watches as five contestants are followed by cameras 24 hours a day. The fate of the participants will be determined by a Social Community Index, which counts their popularity on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.

There’s also Stuck in a Game Show, which blends the reality and game show genres. Five contestants live on the set, with only one way to escape, by winning the game show. The format was co-developed with the creative teams at French TV.

Tom Toumazis, the chief commercial officer at Endemol Group, said, “What makes these formats stand out is the way they blend program genres and media platforms while delivering real drama and entertainment. In the case of The Money Drop we have a proven hit that’s soon to debut in the U.S. and is rolling out internationally as the buzz around it grows. We believe this is an exceptionally strong lineup and we’re looking forward to a busy market.”
