Endemol Takes Back Rights to BBC Commissions

LONDON, April 10: Endemol International has expanded its
finished-program slate ahead of MIPTV, taking over from BBC Worldwide the
distribution of shows commissioned by the BBC from Endemol U.K.

BBC programs that Endemol will now be bringing to the market
include Brighter Pictures’ documentaries 34 Stone Teenager and Teen Transexual, both of which formed a key part of BBC Three’s
“Body Image” season this year.

Also available is the 90-minute documentary special Why
Birds Sing
, set to air on BBC Four this
June. Also from Cheetah Television is the three-part Travels with a
Tangerine
, which aired on BBC Four earlier
this year.

Cheetah’s factual-entertainment series for BBC Three will
also be offered up by Endemol, including Fat Men Can’t Hunt and Help My Dog’s As Fat As Me. From Initial, meanwhile, Endemol is showcasing the
BBC Two series Safari School, and
from Zeppotron the company is delivering BBC Three’s Rush Hour.
