Endemol Scores New Global Deals

HILVERSUM, November 8: Following MIPCOM, Endemol
International has closed a series of new format deals in the Middle East,
Europe and Mexico.

In the Middle East, LBC has commissioned three new seasons
of Star Academy. The fifth season of the
series will launch in December, with seasons six and seven to follow. MBC has
picked up the first season of Endemol’s hit game show Set For Life, slated to air in early 2008. Both formats will be
produced locally by Endemol Middle East, a recently launched operation that was
announced at this year’s MIPCOM.

Endemol’s game show Set For Life has been sold in Mexico. Ten weekly episodes will air
on Televisa beginning November 17, produced by Mediamates.

The first season of Endemol’s reality program What Women
Want
will begin airing in mid-November. The
eight-week daily series will broadcast on ATV in Turkey, and will be produced
locally by Ar-Ya.

Through its distribution deal with Talpa Media, Endemol has
shored up an agreement with Italia 1 for the second season of the game show Let’s
Go Shopping
, and the first season of the
Talpa format M/F has been
acquired by Antena in Romania.
