Endemol Scores International Sales for Wipeout

HILVERSUM, May 20: Endemol
International has secured deals for its new format Wipeout, set to air in the U.S. this summer on ABC, with
broadcasters across Europe.

The format has now been
sold into Germany, Belgium, Greece, Sweden, Norway and Denmark, but details on
the broadcasters are still undisclosed. Endemol is also close to finalizing a
deal in the Middle East, and further territories are expected to be concluded
shortly.

Wipeout is a competition game show that features
contestants from all walks of life competing for a cash prize through rounds of
extreme obstacle courses. Endemol recently invested in building what is set to
be the world’s biggest TV obstacle course, located in Argentina, which will be
used for back-to-back productions.

Mike Morley, the senior executive
director of commercial and creative affairs at Endemol International,
commented: “Wipeout delivers
prime-time family entertainment that's front-to-finish fun, laughter and drama.
Broadcasters who've signed up to it know they're getting a true signature show,
a powerful format that will make their channel stand out. And the real clincher
is that we've managed to ensure production can be tailored to both major and
minor budgets.”
