Endemol Announces New Slate of Deals for British Factual Programs

LONDON, July 12: Endemol
International has secured a range of new international broadcast deals for its
U.K.-produced factual programming, including the sale of the one-hour
documentary special Extraordinary Ten Year Olds into eight additional territories.

Extraordinary Ten Year
Olds
, produced by Endemol UK, has
been picked up across the Scandinavian region, with Channel 4 in Finland, TV
Norge in Norway, Kanal 5 in Sweden and SBS in Denmark all set to air the
documentary special later this year. The special has also been acquired by VRT
in Belgium, RTL Netherlands, Nine Network in Australia and BBC Knowledge in
Asia. Another Endemol UK one-hour special, Teen Transexual, has also been licensed into eight further
territories, including Belgium’s SBS, Finland’s Channel 4, Norway’s TV Norge,
Sweden’s Kanal 5, SBS in Denmark, TVNZ in New Zealand, RTL Netherlands and
Kanal 2 in Estonia.

Meanwhile, the 8×30-minute
factual entertainment series Help My Dog Is As Fat As Me has been sold to Belgium’s SBS, Brazil’s Globosat,
Norway’s TV Norge and Finland’s Channel 4. The 2×1-hour 34 Stone Teenager has also been picked up by SBS in the Netherlands
and DRTV in Denmark.

In other company news,
Matt Creasey, previously the head of sales of finished programs at Endemol, has
been promoted to director of sales for the distribution division.

“Endemol’s portfolio of
finished programs grows ever stronger and these factual shows from the U.K.
have great international appeal,” commented Creasey. “We’ve made very
significant progress since the distribution division started up and I’m very
much looking forward to building on this in my new role.”
