BEIJING: Metan Development Group and EChinaMD have partnered for the new medical lifestyle series Everyday LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability), scheduled to launch in China this summer.

Metan will produce the series pilot, along with handling negotiations with TV stations across China and certain sponsor sales activities. The weekly 45-minute series is focused on health and wellness, giving Chinese viewers the latest information from China and around the world about how to live a happy, healthy and productive life. Each segment will feature experts and doctors, along with stories from everyday people. The show will be enhanced with computer graphics. Everyday LOHAS will be hosted by several prominent Mandarin-speaking experts in Eastern and Western medicine, fitness, psychology and beauty.

“We’re excited to partner with Metan on this groundbreaking series,” said Elliot Friedman, the chairman and CEO of EChinaMD. “It will be the first time ever a TV show in China will bring together Eastern and Western perspectives for each subject it tackles. We hope to achieve a similar success among Chinese speaking audiences as Metan has had with its popular entertainment news series Hello! Hollywood.”

“Today Chinese people are actively seeking a better life through greater health, beauty and family happiness,” commented Barbara Wellner, the VP of programming at Metan and executive producer for the series. “The timing of this new series coincides perfectly with viewers’ growing interest in their health and well-being.”
