Early Chinese Engineering Explored

DUNEDIN: NHNZ has teamed up with Science Channel, China Intercontinental Communication Center (CICC) and Discovery Networks Asia to explore some of China’s earliest engineering achievements.

The partners are co-producing two hour-long Man Made Marvels specials on ancient Chinese architectural structures. NHNZ has aligned with Chinese archaeologist Dr. Agnes Hsu for the projects, which will feature Xian Ancient Armoured City and Giant Buddha. Other documentaries done in part with Dr. Hsu are currently in development and are likely to be announced soon. Dr. Hsu was recently appointed director of education and dean of Confucius Institute at China Institute. She has received numerous awards for her innovative research, including a fellowship at Cambridge University’s Needham Institute for the Study of Chinese Science.
