UKTV Lines Up Series for Home

LONDON: Home, the first of UKTV’s lifestyle channels to be rebranded, will launch on April 30 with a host of original commissions, including the brand-new series Gutted.

In each episode of Gutted, an unsuspecting "hoarder" returns home to discover that all their possessions have been emptied. Host Mark Durden-Smith then gives the homeowners the chance to earn items back by answering relevant questions correctly, but if their answer is incorrect, the items will be put up for action. Gutted will air weekdays at 10 p.m. on Home, currently know as UKTV Style, from May 4.

Other commissions slated to air on the new-look, home-and-garden channel include Splash Media’s Celebrity Fantasy Homes and talkbackThames’ Love the Place You’re In, alongside the U.S. acquisition Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Further series include DIY SOS, Escape to the Country and Groundforce.

The channel will launch with the tag line "Home—there’s no place like it," and will target a core demographic of 35- to 54-year-olds.
