E1 in Business with Stephen King

LOS ANGELES/TORONTO: E1 Entertainment has clinched a deal with the executive producers of The Dead Zone to develop and produce a new series based on Stephen King’s novella The Colorado Kid.

E1 is working with Piller/Segan/Shepherd for the 13×1-hour series Haven. John Morayniss, E1 Television’s CEO, commented, “We couldn’t be more delighted with this partnership with Stephen King, one of the most prolific writers of our time. This partnership is perfectly in line with E1’s ongoing mandate to partner with the best in the business. Haven has all of the right ingredients to make it a worldwide hit and we are already indiscussions with European broadcast partners. You can expect the series to gointo production within the next six months.”

The show focuses on the Maine town of Haven, where FBI agent Audrey Parker investigates supernatural forces. Scott Shepherd (Tru Calling, The Dead Zone) will serve as showrunner and is joined by his partners, executive producers Lloyd Segan and Shawn Piller, and E1’s Morayniss and Noreen Halpern.
