Dr. Ya-Hui Chiu Takes Advisory Role at AsiaSat

HONG KONG: AsiaSat has made Dr. Ya-Hui Chiu the advisor to the president and CEO of the company, following his recent retirement from the VP of technical operations position.

Chiu will continue to oversee the launch of AsiaSat 7 scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2011.

Chiu has served at AsiaSat since 1989, assisting with the launch of AsiaSat 1, AsiaSat 2, AsiaSat 3S, AsiaSat 4 and AsiaSat 5, along with maintaining and operating the satellite fleet and interfacing with customers’ operations and technical needs.

"On behalf of AsiaSat, I would like to thank Dr. Chiu for his years of excellent service and the enormous contributions he made to the company,” said William Wade, the president and CEO of AsiaSat. “I am extremely grateful that Dr. Chiu is assuming a new consulting role with AsiaSat to continue to make contribution to the ongoing expansion of our satellite fleet.”
