TEL AVIV, July 16: Dori Media Group has inked a deal to
operate the movie and general entertainment channels on Israeli cable platform
HOT.
In March, Israel’s only cable platform asked for interested
parties to submit proposals for the production and delivery of its movies and
series channels, currently overseen by Jasmine TV. HOT’s channels include Hot
Drama, Hot Fun, Hot Action, Hot Prime, Hot Movies and Xtra HOT.
HOT has granted Dori Media Spike the rights to produce and
operate the existing HOT premium movie channels and other networks and services
for three years, beginning January 1, 2008. Dori Media Spike, 75 percent owned
by Dori Media Group and 25 percent owned by Spike 2 K Communication, will
produce and package the new and existing channels. The new subsidiary will also
be responsible for the day-to-day running of these channels. According to Dori,
the deal is expected to generate revenues between $17.5 million and $22.5
million a year.
