Dolphin Secures Sony DVD Deal

CULVER CITY, July 27: Dolphin Entertainment, a producer of
live-action content for kids and young adults, has granted the worldwide DVD
rights to six films produced for Nickelodeon to Sony Pictures Worldwide
Acquisitions Group.

The titles will be released by Sony Pictures Home
Entertainment (SPHE) following their television premiere on Nickelodeon. The
first two films in the six-picture deal are Shredderman Rules!, starring Devon Werkheiser (Ned’s
Declassified School Survival Guide)
, Tim
Meadows and Dave Coulier, which premiered on Nickelodeon on June 9; and Last
Day of Summer,
starring Jansen Panettiere
and Eli Vargas, which premiered July 20. DVD releases for both titles are
scheduled for August 28.

Sony is also set to release Roxy Hunter and the Mystery
of the Moody Ghost,
starring Aria Wallace,
shortly after the TV broadcast this fall. The second movie, Roxy
Hunter and the Secret of the Shaman
,
arrives on DVD in the winter.

In announcing the deal, Peter Schlessel, the president of
SPWAG, commented: “We anticipate Dolphin playing a critical role in Sony’s
strategic product mix for the family market.”
