Disney’s Frozen Wins Overall Best Licensed Program at Licensing Awards

NEW YORK: The Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association’s (LIMA) annual International Licensing Awards, held last night in Las Vegas, honored such brands as Hasbro's My Little Pony and Disney's Frozen.

Disney’s Frozen won for overall best licensed program. It also won in the categories of film, television or entertainment animated program. JAKKS Pacific's line of Snow Glow Elsa dolls from Frozen tied for film, television or entertainment animated program hard goods with Playmates Toys' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles product line. Kohl's Department Stores was named best retailer for its Frozen merchandise.

Hasbro's My Little Pony was honored for character or toy brand program. LAFOOD's Sesame Street healthy food won for character or toy brand licensee (hard goods) and Under Armour's Captain America collection for character or toy brand licensee (soft goods).

Other winners last night included Warner Bros. Consumer Products' The Wizarding World of Harry Potter for location-based or experiential initiative. Mojang’s hit video game Minecraft swept the Digital category.

“We’re delighted to recognize the huge impact that all of our award winners have had in the marketplace, including Frozen as 2014’s top success story,” said LIMA President Charles Riotto. “These achievements underscore the high caliber of today’s licensing initiatives and the significance of licensed properties and brands throughout the world.”
