Disney Signs AT&T U-verse Deal

DALLAS/BRISTOL: The Walt Disney Company has entered into a long-term agreement with AT&T U-verse for carriage across multiple platforms, including as part of the pact the full suite of authenticated WATCH products.

AT&T U-verse customers gain access to services such as WATCH Disney Channel, WATCH Disney XD and WATCH Disney Junior, among others. On-demand content is also part of the deal, including ABC On Demand, delivering shows such as Grey’s Anatomy; ABC Family On Demand, with The Secret Life of the American Teenager; Disney Channel On Demand, Disney Junior On Demand and Disney XD On Demand, including the hit shows Mandy Manny, A.N.T. Farm, Good Luck Charlie and a host of original movies.

In total, approximately 70 services are covered by the scope of the agreement, including ABC Family, ABC, Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney XD, ESPN, The Longhorn Network and retransmission consent for WABC-TV, KABC-TV, WLS-TV, KGO-TV, KTRK-TV, WTVD-TV and KFSN-TV, as well as more than ten HD networks.

Added David Preschlack, the executive VP of affiliate sales and marketing at Disney & ESPN Networks Group, “The renewal with AT&T U-verse—our seventh top ten distributor agreement in just over two years—extends the value of the multichannel subscription model with the addition of new networks and services from The Walt Disney Company. Viewers are increasingly living in a multi-screen world, and with this new deal, they will enjoy such benefits as live access to content via the WATCH Disney and WatchESPN services across platforms.”
