Disney Hosts New Media Showcase in Asia

SINGAPORE, June 19: Buena Vista
International Television (BVITV), along with Walt Disney Internet Group, Disney
Channel, ESPN, ESPN Star Sports and ABC, hosted a New Media Showcase in
Singapore today.

Representatives from broadcast
outlets, mobile operators, content aggregators, ISPs and triple-play providers
from across the region attended the event, during which The Walt Disney Company
showcased what it is doing in the new media space. Among the company’s
achievements have been making hit shows such as Desperate Housewives and Lost available
on iTunes. BVITV also recently closed a deal in South Korea to provide mobile
content to TU Media. ESPN Star Sports has been rolling out World Cup content on
mobile platforms, and Disney Channel has been bolstering its broadband
offerings.

developments and change facing the industry and are pleased to be the first U.S.
studio to undertake an event of this scale in the region,” said Steve
