Disney Extends Worldwide Blu-ray Combo Pack Efforts

BURBANK: Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment (WDSHE) has extended efforts on its Combo Pack, which includes a Blu-ray disc plus a standard-definition DVD in a single package, for Disney-branded Blu-ray titles releasing through December 2010.

Through a recent online survey of U.S. home entertainment consumers, WDSHE and independent market research company Lieberman Research Worldwide found that more than 77 percent of consumers that intend to embrace Blu-ray technology in the near future agreed that Combo Packs are a better value than purchasing a DVD or Blu-ray alone. Some of the upcoming Combo Pack titles include a new slate of Disney-branded theatrical, Diamond and Video Premiere titles, such as Hannah Montana The MovieSnow White and the Seven DwarfsTinker Bell and the Lost TreasureUP and Santa Buddies.

The Disney Blu-ray discs provide high-quality picture and sound and hours of extra bonus features and can be watched across multiple formats of choice. WDSHE first pioneered the Combo Pack with the Blu-ray release of Sleeping Beauty in October 2008. Additional Blu-ray Combo Packs current available in the marketplace include Race To Witch MountainBedtime StoriesBoltPinocchio and High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
