ENCINO: Discovery Channel International and Discovery UK have acquired a number of titles from Solid Entertainment’s automotive catalogue.

Discovery Channel International has secured the stand-alone titles Monterey Week, which provides an insider’s look at the cars, parties and dealers at the week-long auto event in Monterey, California, and The World’s Most Expensive Cars, which focuses on the extremely expensive and rare 1939 Auto Union Type D. The channel has also picked up the series Car Crazy Central, which is in its fourth season and features car-restorer Wayne Carini. The shows will fill Discovery International’s Turbo slot in the Pacific Rim, Indian and Asian territories, for a total of 28 episodes.

Meanwhile, Discovery UK secured 36 episodes of the Chasing Classic Cars series, which currently airs on Discovery HD in the U.S.

Richard Propper, founder of Solid Entertainment, commented: “We’re pleased that we can continue to provide more outstanding programming to Discovery Channel as we’ve done for the last 16 years. Our automotive lifestyle programming continues to be licensed to the world’s top broadcasters.”
