Discovery Kids Latin America to Air Southern Star’s Sea Princesses

SYDNEY, November 5: Discovery Kids Latin America has
acquired the first season of Southern Star’s animated children’s series Sea
Princesses
.

The second season of Sea Princesses is currently in production. The 52×12-minute
property is based on the book series Princesas do Mar, created by Brazilian author Fabio
Yabu. The series was commissioned by the Seven Network Australia, and is produced
by Southern Star Entertainment and Neptuno Films Production, in association
with Brazil’s Flamma Films. Neptuno Films distributes Sea Princesses in Spain and Portugal, while licensing and
merchandising rights in Latin America are negotiated by Flamma Films with
Southern Star responsible for distribution outside of these rights.

Sea Princesses centers
on princesses of the various kingdoms of the sea, including Polvina (Octopus
Princess), Ester (Starfish Princess) and Tubarina (Shark Princess). The
cast of characters also includes more than 15 other Sea Princesses, as well as
their families and animal friends.

"We are very excited about adding Sea Princesses to our schedule,” said Peach Gibson, the channel
director for Discovery Kids and Animal Planet Latin America. “This series fits
perfectly into Discovery Kids curriculum and we are sure that both kids and
their parents in Latin America will love to watch it together."
