Discovery Kids Latin America Announces Brazilian Co-Pro

MIAMI, February 21: Discovery Kids in Latin America has
reached a deal with Brazilian animation company TV PinGuim to co-produce the new
2-D animated series Fishtronaut, which
is expected to air on the network throughout Latin America in 2008.

The 52×11-minute series, which was developed and created by
Kiko Mistrorigo and Celia Catunda from TV PinGuim, follows the adventures of a
secret agent fish named Fishtronaut and
his best friends—a little girl called Marina and a young monkey named
Zeek. It encourages children to identify the importance of protecting the
environment for the future of the planet. Fishtronaut will also be supported by Canadian-based animation
company Vivavision and funds from Ancine’s article 39.

Discovery Kids reaches more than 17 million households in
Latin America. This is the network’s first co-production deal in Brazil.
