Discovery Fit & Health Unveils 2011 Slate

CANNES: Discovery Fit & Health has announced its slate of acquired series and specials for 2011, including Teen Tamer and My Teen’s a Nightmare: I’m Moving Out.

In the 5×1-hour Teen Tamer, behavioral specialist Lorrine Marer attempts to reform troubled teenagers, using practical psychology techniques and exercises. The 8×1-hour My Teen’s a Nightmare: I’m Moving Out features parents who move out of their homes due to unruly children, while a teen expert moves in for four days to give the adolescents a makeover.
 
Bizarre ER is a 40×30-minute series that provides a behind-the-scenes look at real-life emergency room cases, offering viewers facts and statistics related to the accidents.
 
The 5×1-hour Are You Fitter Than a Pensioner features teenagers who are sent to live in a retirement community for a week with very active senior citizens. After a week of strict diets and fitness routines, the teens and seniors compete in a physical fitness contest.
 
In Sex Change Hospital, the 6×1-hour series centers on a hospital in Colorado that specializes in sex reassignments, and the lives of its patients. My Mom, the Centerfold is an hour-long special about the relationship between plastic surgery-obsessed model Alicia Douvall and her 14-year-old daughter.
 
The hour-long special Under 18 Under the Knife features two 16-year-old girls and their journey to the U.S. for cosmetic surgery after U.K. surgeons turn them down.
 
In Underage & Having Sex, the hour-long special takes a look at the sex lives of teenagers by focusing on three sets of parents as they deal with their daughters’ sexual activities.
 
Rounding out Discovery Fit & Health’s acquisitions is Love Translated, an hour-long special about 10 men who are determined to find a spouse during a 10-day trip to Odessa, Ukraine.
