Discovery Asia Rebrands HD Network

SINGAPORE: Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific (DNAP) is rebranding its Discovery HD channel as Discovery HD World effective today with a new logo and a slate of a new content, including Werner Herzog’s Encounters at the End of the World.

The new look for the channel will be seen in all of Discovery HD’s current Asia-Pacific markets: Australia, Hong Kong, India, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan. “With Discovery HD World, we are pleased to provide a premium service that offers our affiliate partners a unique proposition to increase their subscriber base and boost their portfolio, while providing our audiences with an unparalleled HD viewing experience with our extensive library of content shot in true HD,” said Tom Keaveny, the executive VP and managing director of Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific.

The re-brand kicks off with the regional premiere of Encounters at the End of the World, a two-hour special that ventures to the Antarctic, focusing on the people stationed at McMurdo Station, Ross Island, the headquarters for the National Science Foundation.
