Digital Media Chief Named for Oprah Winfrey Network

LOS ANGELES, October 21:
OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, the TV personality’s joint venture with
Discovery Communications, has tapped Robert Tercek as president of digital
media.

Tercek will oversee the
multimedia ventures for OWN and Oprah.com, beginning November 3.
Responsibilities include leading the digital team in creating and marketing
multiplatform opportunities for OWN and Oprah.com content. He will spearhead
initiatives to build a significant social-media presence. Based in Los Angeles,
he also will have an office in Chicago.

in emerging technologies will help serve our dedicated online community in
exciting new ways," said Winfrey. "I'm happy to welcome him to our
team."

Tercek has spent two decades
creating and marketing content on multiple platforms. He founded the
social-media sites Comedy.com and PeopleJam and was previously the chief
marketing officer for MForma Group. His career began in cable as creative
director at MTV.
