Diamond Heist Doc Set for ITV1

ABERDEEN,
April 24: Scottish independent Tern Television has been commissioned by ITV1 to
produce The Diamond Geezers, a one-hour documentary that tells the story of
the foiled Millennium Dome diamond robbery.

The documentary will
explore the truth behind the attempted robbery and the ensuing police
investigation. The Diamond Geezers
will be distributed by BBC Worldwide.

Harry Bell, the creative
director for Tern Television, commented: “The Diamond Geezers, Tern’s first commission for ITV1, is a radical
new departure for us and a fantastic example of how we are moving forward as a
company. It’s also a great coup for Miranda Peters, who heads Tern South,
winning her first commission so soon after her appointment.”

Jeff Anderson, ITV’s
controller of current affairs and documentaries, added: “Although the story of
the foiled diamond robbery is well known, this program brings a great deal of
new information into the public eye. Tern has managed to get all the senior
detectives to speak on camera, as well as unearthing fascinating police
surveillance footage, which has never been seen before.”
