David Lynn Appointed EVP and MD of MTV Networks U.K. & Ireland

LONDON, March 9: Nickelodeon U.K.’s David Lynn has been
appointed as the executive VP and managing director of MTV Networks U.K. &
Ireland, reporting to Bob Bakish, the president of MTV Networks International (MTVNI).

In his new role, Lynn will be responsible for all of MTVN’s
U.K. operations, including 17 TV channels, 16 websites and four mobile TV
channels spanning its MTV, MTV Flux, VH1, and TMF brands. He will also be
responsible for its interests in its joint venture businesses with BSkyB, which
include Nickelodeon U.K. and Paramount Comedy Channel U.K.

Lynn, currently the SVP and MD of Nickelodeon U.K., is
expected to take up his new role in the next few weeks and continue to oversee
the operations at Nickelodeon U.K. until a successor is named. While at
Nickelodeon U.K., he instigated Nicktrition,
Nickelodeon’s groundbreaking healthy eating campaign for young children;
steered the company through its HFSS negotiations with Ofcom; and launched
Nick Jr
as well the brand’s first broadband
channels in the U.K., Turbonick
and Nick Jr Video.

In addition, Heather Jones has been promoted to the EVP of
content and creative at MTVN U.K., and will report to Lynn. In her new
position, she is expected to play a critical role in leading MTVN U.K.’s music
and comedy brands. Her new responsibilities encompass all multiplatform content
and brand strategy for MTVN’s music and comedy brands—including linear
TV, digital media and the related U.K.-based production operations. Previously,
Jones served as the SVP and MD of Paramount Comedy Channel U.K.
