Daro Films Takes Select Rights for Breakthrough Teen Musical

TORONTO: Breakthrough Entertainment has licensed the television rights in Eastern Europe and Africa for King of the Camp, a musical that follows the lives of a group of teens attending a summer camp, to Daro Films.

The 90-minute musical follows an easy-going camp counselor who is trying to follow her heart while pleasing the expectations of her wealthy parents. The story is set against Camp Wahanowin’s annual Olympiad, a competition where the winners are crowned King and Queen of the camp. Produced by Bensondale Productions, King of the Camp is a YTV original production.

“As an established and focused distributor with a quality catalogue of programming, Daro Films is a perfect partner for Breakthrough Entertainment for these specialized territories,” said Marina Cordoni, Breakthrough’s head of sales and business development, theatrical and TV movies. “We’re happy to have signed on our first agreement at MIP, and look forward to a long-term working relationship for the next set of movies on our production slate.”
