Comedy Central Greenlights Norm Macdonald Sports Show

NEW YORK: Comedy Central has ordered Sports Show with Norm Macdonald, featuring the former SNL cast member giving a comedic take on topical sports stories, for an eight-episode run.

The new series, to be taped in front of a live audience, heads into production this month and is slated for an April debut. The show will feature Macdonald, who made a name for himself as the anchor on SNL’s Weekend Update, as he touches on topical and controversial stories from the sports world.

Macdonald will serve as an executive producer on the new show, alongside Marc Gurvitz, Lori Jo Hoekstra and Jackhole Productions’ Daniel Kellison. Jim Sharp and Gary Mann are the executives in charge of production for Comedy Central.
