Come Dine with Me Gets Belgian Treatment

LONDON: The French-language broadcaster RTL-TVI in Belgium will get its own adaptation of ITV Global Entertainment’s hit format Come Dine with Me.

Under the name Un Diner Presque Parfait, which translates as An Almost Perfect Meal, the show will be produced by Everlasting Productions and is slated to air in fall as a stripped series. This is the 13th territory format deal for Come Dine with Me, which is currently produced locally in Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the U.S. and the U.K. The unscripted factual-entertainment format follows amateur chefs competing against each other in hosting a dinner party for the other contestants. Each competitor then rates the host’s performance and the winner is rewarded with the title of "ultimate dinner party host" and a cash prize.

Tobi de Graaff, the director global TV distribution for ITV Global Entertainment, said: "We’re delighted to be announcing this format deal. The Come Dine with Me franchise has grown into one of television’s most popular and valued exports. It’s a guaranteed proven hit, which delivers strong ratings and great value."

Remy Blumenfeld, the director global formats for ITV Global Content, added: "Come Dine with Me has established itself as a top-rating format in every territory it has entered to date. Across access or prime-time television, it’s an extremely engaging and entertaining format, one that has universal appeal with strong local relevance. We’re looking forward to working with RTL on this new production."
