CNN International Launches Weekly Documentary Strand

ATLANTA, January 30: CNN International has teamed up with
London-based Journeyman Pictures to launch World’s Untold Stories, a new weekly 30-minute documentary strand launching
on February 17.

The series will be broadcast each weekend to more than 200
million households worldwide. CNN International has acquired the rights to 25
documentaries from Journeyman Pictures for 2007.

The first documentary in the series, The Very Thin Blue
Line,
highlights the police recruitment in
Iraq and takes viewers inside a police training camp in Jordan. The next three
films in the series are: Land of Missing Children, which explores the grim situation of young women in
northeastern India who are abducted and sold into prostitution; A
Tale of Two Women,
a film about female
Afghan politicians; and Road to Terrorism, which examines terrorist activity in the Philippines.

“These are remarkable documentaries and I’m proud to have
secured the rights to show them,” said Rena Golden, the SVP of CNN
International. “The films are compelling and fresh, covering controversial
issues and datelines that are not currently getting a lot of media attention.
The series features superbly crafted journalism in which the commitment and
courage of the reporters shines through.”
